Crescent Crown Distributing
New Orleans, Louisiana
Crescent Crown, one of the nation's largest beer distributors, relocated to a new
190,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in New Orleans in 2004. SubZero was
chosen to provide all thermal construction including a 68,000 square foot cooler
and 30,000 square foot keg room. This project, built on the former site of a burned-down
warehouse, serves as a key component in New Orleans' goal of redeveloping its downtown
industrial areas and attracting new businesses to the city.
The exterior panels were stacked using a unique color scheme of Birch White and
Aegean Blue. This created a distinctive and attractive look for the building, boldly
displaying Crescent Crown's company colors. Interior finish was standard white for
the warehouse and keg room. Specially designed one-hour fire rated panels were utilized
on either side of an interior load lane where delivery trucks drive through the
building to be loaded. Nearly 150,000 square feet of insulated panel was installed
on the project in only three months.
Crescent Crown Distributing is the leader in the beer business in southern Louisiana,
where it distributes 10.5 million cases annually. With its Arizona acquisition of
Pearce Beverage, Crescent Crown gained another 14 million cases. Approaching annual
total distribution of 25 million cases, the company ranks as the fifth largest wholesaler
in the nation. Notable brands distributed by Crescent Crown include Miller Brewing
Co., Coors Brewing Co., Barton Beers, Labatt USA, Heineken USA, Mike's Hard Lemonade,
McKenzie River, Pabst Brewing Co and Euphoria Water.
